ABOUT RONNIE MACKEY, JR.

Ronnie E. Mackey Jr. is a fourth year Broadcasting Journalism who was born in Rattler country on February 19, 1992 to Ronnie and Keishia Mackey. He graduated from Tallahassee’s James S. Rickards High School in 2010. At Rickards, he was an active member of the football team all four years and was also on the Homecoming Court his senior year.
 
In the fall of 2010, Ronnie made the long journey, 5 miles down the road to make his lifelong dream come true: enrolling for his first semester at Florida A&M University. His life has changed considerably since he first left home to pursue his post secondary education on “The Hill.” Although he was apprehensive about the experience that awaited him, ask him now and he will say that attending FAMU is the best decision he ever made.
 
Since arriving on the ”Highest of Seven Hills”, Ronnie has continued his commitment to excellence and service. His involvements include being a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., 2012 FAMU Orientation Leader, Campus Tour Guide, Peer Mentor, Residential Assistant, 2012 Student Government Association Secretary of Athletic Affairs, and currently serving as Mr. Florida A&M University for the 2013-2014 Academic Year.
 
After graduation, Ronnie will seek a Masters degree in Sports Administration; he looks forward to working with collegiate athletics and eventually becoming an Athletic Director. His hobbies include cooking, recreational basketball and football, and road tripping.
 
Ronnie is proud to serve as the 2014-2015 Student Body Vice President to the family of Rattlers that make up this prestigious and honorable institution of higher learning. He would like to thank all of his supporters and wants everyone to know that everything he does is for the betterment of FAMU. The Graham Mackey Administration will always be driven by the students of the #1 university in the world: the students of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University!
